Joint Protest March-Demanding Punishment to the culprits of 1984 Sikh Genocide
APCR join hands with other civil and Human rights organisation and marched from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar demanding Punishment to the culprits of 1984 Sikh Genocide on 1st November 2014 on 30th anniversary of the horrific incidents. Other Communal attacks like 1983 Nelli Massacre, 1992 Mumbai, 2002 Gujrat, 2008 Odisha, 2012 Assam, 2014 Trilokpuri Delhi against Muslim and Christian communities were also condemned and Punishment to all the culprits were demanded. Representatives from different organisations urged the gathering to unite against state terrorism and Fascism.
APCR Volunteers with Lokraj Sangthan, PUCL, Sikh Sidak, Sikh Forum,United Sikh Mission, UMF, SIO, JIH, WPI, Justice for Sikhs and other dozens of the organisations gathered at Mandi House and Marched toward Jantar Mantar raising slogans. Speakers from all the organisations addressed the gathering. A play showing horrific incidents of the killings and rapes during 1984 was also played by Justice for Sikhs.
It should be noted that about five thousand Sikhs were killed, their houses and shops looted and burnt, hundreds of the Sikh women raped, just after the murder of Indira Gandhi in November 1984. After 30 yrs of the struggle there is no justice to the Sikh Community yet. In spite of the recommendations of the ten commissions and committees constituted for providing justice to the victims maximum accused are still roaming free and are enjoying good positions till the date.
